Despite a slow start we had a fun year. The usual "pay the rent" type of embroidery such as conti suits, shirts and jackets but happily other embroidery as well.
We had a lot of fun designing racing shirts and caps, they look rather sharp I must say.
Caps are Rowland's favourite I think, it's great finding ways to squeeze in something more on the back or side.
We have quite a few people who bring towels, bath robes and such to have a name embroidered as a gift. Denim bib aprons are a favourite as gifts for Dad or Hubby and I'm working on a line of bags for the ladies.
We try to keep the cost of the gift section as low as possible, when you're giving to the man who has everything, especially if it's from the kids, rather go for something he'll genuinely like if a new car is out of the question.
Urban Threads continue to put out excellent, quirky designs and we're using them more and more.
I should be showing my wares at a holistic fair in February, articles with the Ohm sign Chakra symbols and the like. I've embroidered the Reiki precepts onto a keyboard cover, something good to contemplate at the start of the workday and plan various other things, cushions, aprons and so on.
I do believe 2011 will be a busy fun year for Huggybear Embroidery. We enjoy meeting new people through our work and coming up with new ideas to keep the idle hands active.
One of the highlights of 2010 was being part of a special day for some young men from Maitland. We embroidered shirts and caps, others donated time, food, themselves. The boys were taken to Killarney Racetrack, already dressed in their new togs. The day consisted of all things "boy".
Hot dogs, hamburgers, Coca Cola, lucky packets, watching the racing, sitting in a racing car and just having a good time. Hopefully we can all get together and do something again for the girls.
Have a good year and remember
The painless tattoo is only a few embroidery stitches away. Call me.

I have a friend whose nickname is Huggybear. That's funny.
